What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy (OT) is a health-focused therapy designed to help people participate more fully in the meaningful activities of daily life — the things you need to do, want to do, and love to do.
These activities can include everything from self-care tasks like dressing and eating, to work, school, household routines, social engagement, and community involvement. OT takes a whole-person approach, addressing physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors that affect everyday functioning.
Our occupational therapists work one-on-one with individuals to assess their strengths and challenges and build personalized strategies that increase independence, improve confidence, and support long-term well-being.
Why Choose OT Services at NBCG?
At NBCG, we know healing and growth come from integrated care. Currently, our multidisciplinary team includes psychologists, neuropsychologists, behavioral specialists, speech therapists, and medication management providers — all working together under one roof to support mental, behavioral, and developmental health

ABA therapy is science-based therapy focused on modifying behavioral and communication needs to help your child succeed in the world and meet their goals.
Why Occupational Therapy Matters
At its core, OT helps people overcome barriers that interfere with daily life — whether those barriers come from neurological differences, developmental challenges, mental health conditions, physical limitations, or the emotional impact of life transitions. By focusing on meaningful activities rather than just symptoms, OT enhances daily functioning and overall quality of life.
Here’s what occupational therapy can support:
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Self-care tasks like eating, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
Instrumental Tasks: Skills like managing time, cooking, cleaning, and workplace routines
Cognitive & Executive Skills: Improved attention, organization, memory, and planning
Sensory Processing & Regulation: Support for sensory differences that impact comfort and participation
Mental Health & Routine Building: Creating stable, meaningful daily routines that support emotional and psychological well-being
