ABA therapy — or Applied Behavior Analysis — is a science-based behavioral therapy in Utah focused on building communication, social, and adaptive skills in children with autism spectrum disorder. As one of the most established ABA healthcare approaches available, it helps your child succeed in the world and meet their goals across home, school, and community settings.
How ABA Therapy Works
Step 1: Our applied behavioral therapist will meet with you to learn about your child and family's needs. They then create an individualized ABA therapy treatment plan that supports your goals.
Step 2: We will work with you to confirm that your insurance approves ABA services. If your insurance approves treatment, we will work with you to set up a weekly therapy schedule at one of our ABA therapy clinics or in your home.
Step 3: Your child and family will learn skills, techniques, and principles that support lifelong changes in your child's behaviors and communication abilities — a core goal of behavioral therapy in Utah and autism support.
Treatment Plan: Most plans involve multiple weekly sessions based on individual goals.
Insurance Accepted: Many private insurers, plus Medicaid.
Program Expectations
Our ABA therapy program focuses on treating Tier 2 and Tier 3 clients, which means this is a moderately intensive program designed for children with autism spectrum disorder and related behavioral needs.
Our program works with clients ages 2–18 across our autism treatment centers in Utah. Openings vary by client's availability.
Each session is generally 3 hours, sometimes shorter or longer depending on family and staff availability.
ABA therapy clients must receive 15 hours of therapy per week to enroll in our program. Our team of BCBAs and LBAs team will work with you to meet that requirement within your family's unique needs.
Parent trainings and ongoing education are key to your child's long-term success in behavioral therapy. Our program requires parents to meet with their BCBA or LBA to learn skills and techniques to support your child's goals.
Consistent attendance is required for our staff and we ask the same of our ABA therapy families. ABA is most effective when it's reliably consistent. If your family isn't able to commit to a set schedule, our program may not be the best fit. Please contact us with any questions about the attendance policy.
