NBCG Teen Social Skills Group

Develop social skills & social awareness while making friends!

The NBCG Teen Social Skills is a group for adolescents aged 12-18 who have ASD. We will be using the PEERS curriculum to teach and rehearse functional social skills that are relevant for teens who are entering middle school or high school. PEERS is an evidence-based curriculum that focuses on advanced conversation skills, identifying friends, handling teasing and bullying, navigating the internet safely, learning how to organize “hang-outs”, and much more. In addition to PEERS, we will be playing Dungeons and Dragons to facilitate cooperative problem-solving, to rehearse some of the skills we learn in PEERS, and to have fun together! We may also play other cooperative board games, video games, and more.
