Find Relief from OCD — Compassionate, Evidence-Based Treatment That Works

Evidence-based, comprehensive, outpatient care that puts you first.

first, let's name it

What Is OCD?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common and chronic mental health condition characterized by two primary components: obsessions and compulsions.

The obsessions

Intrusive, unwanted thoughts, images, or urges that cause significant anxiety or distress. These obsessions can vary widely but often center around themes like contamination fears, harm, forbidden thoughts, or a need for order and symmetry.

The compulsions

Repetitive behaviors or mental acts that individuals feel driven to perform in response to their obsessions. The goal is to reduce distress or prevent a feared event — but these actions provide only temporary relief and can become time-consuming and debilitating.

OCD often hides in plain sight — but with the right care, it doesn't have to run the show.
our approach is rooted in

care that's expert-led and adapted to you.

At NBCG, we understand that OCD can profoundly disrupt daily life — causing distress and impacting relationships, work, and overall well-being. Individuals with OCD often experience intense anxiety, shame, and isolation. The condition arises from a complex interplay of genetic, environmental, and neurological factors, requiring a comprehensive and individualized approach.

OCD Therapies We Offer

— one first-line

Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed specifically for OCD. It works by gradually exposing a person to feared thoughts, images, or situations while guiding them to resist performing compulsive behaviors. Over time, this reduces anxiety and weakens the OCD cycle. According to the American Psychiatric Association, ERP is considered a first-line treatment for OCD.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT for OCD focuses on helping individuals change their relationship with intrusive thoughts rather than trying to eliminate them. It teaches skills such as accepting internal experiences, defusing from obsessive thoughts, and committing to actions aligned with personal values — building a more flexible, meaningful life even in the presence of discomfort.

— three

Psychological & Neuropsychological Testing

Obsessive thinking patterns and repetitive behaviors are present in many psychiatric diagnoses. Through comprehensive testing, we clarify whether your symptoms are OCD or another condition that may require different treatment.

Medication Management

Psychiatric medication management involves a medical provider prescribing and monitoring medications to help manage OCD symptoms. Includes regular check-ins to assess effectiveness and adjust doses as needed.

TMS, Spravato, & Ketamine

TMS, Spravato (esketamine), and ketamine are sometimes used off-label to help individuals with OCD, especially when symptoms don't fully respond to first-line therapies. TMS uses targeted magnetic pulses to modulate brain activity involved in OCD, while ketamine and Spravato act on glutamate pathways. These are more commonly used for treatment-resistant depression — and when depression co-occurs with OCD, they may provide additional benefit.

— six

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and reduce harmful behaviors. It builds skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness — balancing acceptance of current experiences with motivation for positive change.

Relief begins with one conversation.

Whether you're seeking treatment for the first time or looking for new options after others haven't worked — our team is here to meet you exactly where you are.

Indications for Treatment

The providers at Neurobehavioral Center for Growth (NBCG) offer medication management for a range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Bipolar Disorder. Medications are prescribed based on individual assessments and in conjunction with other therapeutic interventions as needed.

Important Safety Information

Psychiatric medications are only available by prescription and should be taken as directed by a healthcare provider. A provider at NBCG can help determine if medication is right for you. Patients' responses to medications may vary, and ongoing monitoring is necessary to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, changes in appetite, or mood fluctuations. Some medications carry risks such as dependency, withdrawal symptoms, or rare but serious adverse effects. It is important to discuss all potential risks and benefits with your provider.

Medications for mental health conditions should not be discontinued without consulting a healthcare provider. If you experience severe side effects, worsening symptoms, or thoughts of self-harm, seek immediate medical attention.
