Expanding Mental Health Care Across Utah: NBCG Now Offers Telehealth Statewide

For over a decade, the Neurobehavioral Center for Growth has been honored to serve Utah families from our clinic locations along the Wasatch Front. We've watched our patients work hard, grow, and heal — and along the way, we've heard the same thing over and over from people outside our immediate area: "I wish there was something like NBCG closer to me."

Today, we're thrilled to share that there is.

NBCG now offers telehealth services statewide across Utah, bringing our licensed mental health providers directly to patients wherever they are — from Cache Valley to Washington County, from the Uintah Basin to rural communities that have long faced a shortage of quality mental health care. If you have a private space and an internet connection, you now have access to NBCG.

Why this matters to us

Utah has a well-documented mental health provider shortage, particularly outside of Salt Lake and Davis Counties. Families in communities like St. George, Cedar City, Moab, Vernal, Price, and Richfield have historically faced long waitlists, limited specialty options, or multi-hour round trips just to access the kind of comprehensive, evidence-based care they deserve.

That has never sat right with us. NBCG was founded in 2012 on the belief that every person — regardless of where they live, what they're navigating, or how complicated their situation might be — deserves access to competent, compassionate, coordinated mental health care. Expanding statewide via telehealth is a direct expression of that founding mission.

We're not just opening a scheduling portal. We're extending the same clinical team, the same integrated approach to care, and the same commitment to getting the diagnosis right and the treatment plan right — to the rest of Utah.

What telehealth at NBCG looks like

Telehealth simply means meeting with your provider over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video connection rather than in one of our physical offices. You join from your phone, tablet, or computer — no app downloads required — and your session feels much like any other appointment. The difference is that you can do it from your living room, your car on a lunch break, or anywhere else in the state where you have privacy and a connection.

At NBCG, telehealth is available for a wide range of our services, including mental health therapy, psychiatric medication management and evaluation, follow-up appointments for existing patients, and ongoing care coordination across our multidisciplinary team. Our testing services, ABA and autism services, and advanced in-person treatments — TMS, Spravato, and ketamine — continue to be available at our six physical clinic locations for patients who need them.

What makes NBCG telehealth different from a standalone virtual therapy app is that you're not just connecting with a single provider in isolation. You're joining a practice. Your telehealth therapist can coordinate directly with a NBCG psychiatrist if medication becomes part of your care. Your psychiatric provider knows what your therapist is working on. Everyone is working from the same playbook — because they're all on the same team.

Who we're now able to reach

Statewide telehealth opens the door for patients who previously couldn't access NBCG's services for geographic or logistical reasons. That includes:

People in rural Utah communities who have had limited or no local access to licensed mental health specialists. Parents and caregivers who need flexible scheduling that doesn't require building a commute into an already full day. Adults managing chronic illness or mobility challenges that make regular travel to appointments difficult. Individuals who have been on waitlists elsewhere and are ready to start now. Current NBCG patients who want the option to attend appointments remotely when life calls for it.

If you've been putting off getting support because the logistics felt impossible, we want you to know: that barrier is gone.

The same NBCG you've always known

Expanding statewide doesn't change who we are or how we practice. It means more people get access to it.

Our providers are the same licensed psychologists, therapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, BCBAs, and speech-language pathologists who have been serving Utah families since 2012. Our commitment to getting the diagnosis right before building a treatment plan is unchanged. Our belief that coordinated, multidisciplinary care produces better outcomes than fragmented, siloed care is unchanged. And our deep respect for the complexity and individuality of every patient we serve is absolutely unchanged.

We've always believed that where you live shouldn't determine the quality of mental health care available to you. Telehealth gives us the ability to put that belief into practice — statewide.
