Why Choose NBCG for MCI & Dementia Care?

Memory changes can be concerning — whether it's misplaced words, forgotten appointments, or moments of confusion. At Neurobehavioral Center for Growth, we specialize in helping individuals experiencing mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia maintain their independence, improve daily function, and live meaningful, fulfilling lives.

From comprehensive neuropsychological testing to ongoing therapeutic support, we meet you where you are — and walk with you toward where you want to be.
our approach is rooted in

care that's expert-led and adapted to you.

We bring together psychologists, psychiatrists, and board-certified mental health providers to design the path that fits your brain, your symptoms, and your life — and we stay with you every step of the way.

know the difference

Understanding Cognitive Changes

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)

Involves noticeable changes in memory or thinking that go beyond typical aging, but not severe enough to significantly disrupt everyday life. Some people with MCI remain stable, while others may develop dementia over time.

Dementia

Describes a group of conditions that affect memory, reasoning, and behavior, such as Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, and Lewy body dementia. While not reversible, early detection and treatment can greatly improve quality of life and slow progression.

It's normal to forget things from time to time. But when memory lapses, confusion, or attention problems begin to interfere with daily life, it may be a sign of something more significant.

Indications for Treatment

The providers at Neurobehavioral Center for Growth (NBCG) offer medication management for a range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Bipolar Disorder. Medications are prescribed based on individual assessments and in conjunction with other therapeutic interventions as needed.

Important Safety Information

Psychiatric medications are only available by prescription and should be taken as directed by a healthcare provider. A provider at NBCG can help determine if medication is right for you. Patients' responses to medications may vary, and ongoing monitoring is necessary to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, changes in appetite, or mood fluctuations. Some medications carry risks such as dependency, withdrawal symptoms, or rare but serious adverse effects. It is important to discuss all potential risks and benefits with your provider.

Medications for mental health conditions should not be discontinued without consulting a healthcare provider. If you experience severe side effects, worsening symptoms, or thoughts of self-harm, seek immediate medical attention.
