First-line Depression Therapies We Offer:
-
Psychological testing is a structured way to assess a person’s emotions, behavior, and personality. It helps diagnose mental health conditions (like depression or anxiety) and guides treatment planning.
Testing may include interviews, questionnaires, and standardized tests.
-
Mental health therapy is a supportive process where individuals work with a trained professional to understand and manage emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges.
It can help improve coping skills, relationships, and overall well-being.
-
Psychiatric medication management involves a medical provider prescribing and monitoring medications to help manage mental health symptoms.
It includes regular check-ins to assess effectiveness and adjust doses if needed.
Sometimes traditional therapies and medication aren’t enough. If that sounds like you, our Advanced Depression Services may be the next step!
Advanced Depression Services:
-
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain areas involved in mood regulation, often used for depression when other treatments haven't worked.
-
Spravato (esketamine) is a fast-acting nasal spray derived from ketamine. It works differently from traditional antidepressants by targeting the glutamate system in the brain, helping to restore neural connections involved in mood regulation.
Spravato is administered in a certified clinic by highly trained medical staff.
-
Ketamine is a fast-acting medication used off-label to treat depression, especially treatment-resistant depression and acute suicidal thoughts. Unlike traditional antidepressants, ketamine targets the glutamate system to quickly improve mood and strengthen brain connections.
It is administered by our Psychiatric providers through intramuscular injection or an intranasal spray.

Important Safety Information
Psychiatric medications are only available by prescription and should be taken as directed by a healthcare provider. A provider at NBCG can help determine if medication is right for you. Patients’ responses to medications may vary, and ongoing monitoring is necessary to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, changes in appetite, or mood fluctuations. Some medications carry risks such as dependency, withdrawal symptoms, or rare but serious adverse effects. It is important to discuss all potential risks and benefits with your provider.
Medications for mental health conditions should not be discontinued without consulting a healthcare provider. If you experience severe side effects, worsening symptoms, or thoughts of self-harm, seek immediate medical attention.
