Group Information:

The Skills for Learning and Emotion Regulation group utilizes the evidenced-based program, Second Step and tier two behavioral interventions to help young children identify/manage big feelings, increase their quality of relationships, attend to structured activities, and successfully transition to Kindergarten. It targets children ages 4-5 who struggle with emotion regulation, behavior outbursts, poor social skills (making/keeping friends), difficulty functioning in a variety of settings, and struggles to focus/stay with a group. This group is beneficial for children with AD/HD, autism spectrum, anxiety, aggression, noncompliance, and other mood based disorders. Group includes a binder which covers techniques used to address behaviors/big feelings, what is learned each week, and ideas for ways parents can use learned skills in daily life. Parents are encouraged to attend as many groups as they are able, to aid transferring skills from group at home. This is not required, though parents are always welcome.
